With the aim of publicizing the innovation and development achieved by the craftspeople of Santa Ana and Ahuachapán, the National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises (Conamype) inaugurated last Thursday the exhibition of handicraft accessories of gold and silver.
The activity was carried out in the Regional Museum of the West, located on Independencia Avenue, in the Historic Center of the city. During the event, recognition and registration certificates were given to the artisans participating in the goldsmith workshops, which were given in October and November last year by the Regional Center for Local Economic Development (CRDEL) in Santa Ana.
Through this center has benefited more than 50 people artisans of the department of Santa Ana and the northern area of Ahuachapán.
The favored ones learned to elaborate a variety of products. Among them, carved in jade, sculptures and jewelry mounted in silver; Elaboration of Maya replicas in clay; Clothing made with indigo; Elaboration of natural jewels with seeds and natural stones, as well as products in wood and decoration painted by hand.
Other workshops that have received are the painting of stone and transformation of galvanized sheet to utilitarian products.
